About the Event

Celebrate the power of individual philanthropy at the Circle of Women fundraiser. Guests hear from women who have changed their lives with support from YWCA Madison and discover how their gift benefits women and their families in our community. The YWCA create this event to encourage philanthropy among women and provide an opportunity to network with others from diverse social, ethnic, economic, educational, and cultural backgrounds. Men are also welcome to attend.

Circle of Women is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to support YWCA programs and learn about their impact on the community and individual lives. Funds donated by guests at the event will support the YWCA Madison's race & gender equity; job training & transportation; and housing & shelter. Because of our generous sponsors, each dollar raised goes directly to the YWCA to support local programming.

The YWCA Madison held the first Circle of Women fundraiser in 2004. With great success, the event continues to grow. In 2014, over 850 people attended the 11th annual event and donated a record $230,000 for YWCA programs and services.

Here is what some of last year's guests said about the event:

  • “I’ve attended Circle of Women for several years and each time, I leave being so impressed and uplifted by the testimonials—the women the YWCA has helped are amazing as is the help that you provide.”
  • “Love this program and always come away so inspired by the women who are brave enough to share their stories with such a large group.Thank you for all you do for the community.”
  • “I did not realize the huge amount of support for women and their families in the community. I had assumed it was just housing support.”
  • “YWCA does great work in empowering women... by giving them confidence in themselves.”
