Housing First Coordinator

YWCA Madison is seeking candidates for a Housing First Coordinator for our Housing First program located in our downtown location. The Housing First Coordinator works to prevent additional episodes of homelessness providing homeless families with affordable subsidized housing and the support necessary to learn skills, maintain housing, and improve financial security.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess:

  • Associate's degree in the social sciences, human services or related field, or commensurate experience: 2+ years working in the field of Housing in addition to required experience below.
  • Two years of experience in the following areas: program management, property management, landlord/tenant law, working with homeless people, case management and community outreach and advocacy.
  • Must be skilled in program management.
Relevant to the position:

The Housing First Coordinator will provide culturally inclusive, trauma informed programming and services and will incorporate best practice techniques into the programs.

Successful candidates for either position will:

  • Have knowledge of landlord/tenant law, low-income and subsidized housing programs, mental health, trauma, AODA, poverty issues and knowledge of resources available to low-income households.
  • Be detail-oriented with strong record-keeping skills

Both positions are salaried, 100% FTE positions. The salary range for both positions is $35,000-$40,000. Excellent benefits package with generous paid time off. Both positions work regular business hours, usually between 8:30 – 5:00.
