About the Event

Celebrate the power of individual philanthropy at the Circle of Women. Guests hear from women who have changed their lives with support from YWCA Madison and discover how their gift benefits women and their families in our community. The event was conceived as a way to encourage philanthropy among women and provide an opportunity to network with others from diverse social, ethnic, economic, educational, and cultural backgrounds.

Circle of Women is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to learn about the YWCA. Funds donated by guests at the event will support the YWCA Madison's programs for affordable housing, employment and training, racial and restorative justice, affordable transportation, and after-school enrichment for young girls. Because of our generous sponsors, each dollar raised goes directly to the YWCA to support local programming.

At each Circle of Women event, we highlight the stories of amazing YWCA women. Check out this video from the 2011 event.

2012 Sponsors

Circle of Women sponsors underwrite the cost of the luncheon, ensuring that each individual gift goes directly to help more people continue their journeys of hope. These sponsor donations are an important part of the YWCA Madison's annual budget. When making your purchasing decisions, keep these sponsors in mind. By supporting this event, they signal desire to join with us to eliminate racism and empower women.

History

The YWCA of Madison began holding the Circle of Women in 2004. With great success, the event continues to grow. In 2011, nearly 850 people attended.

Here is what some of last year's guests said about the event:

  • “Once again, the YWCA Madison Circle of Women was a wonderful event and I was pleased to host a table of friends and colleagues to support your important work.”
  • “I was simply amazed and in awe. The testimonials are what made me realize that the programs do work. You have my support.”
  • “Awesome program and mission! It was refreshing to hear such positive stories in the midst of the somewhat chaotic local events dominating the news recently. I was so moved! Thank you for hosting such an amazing event.”
