Restorative Justice Virtual Workshop Series
In order to align with Public Health recommendations and support community safety due to COVD-19, this year our 3day training has adjusted and will be offered in a virtual format through a six-week webinar, twice a week for two hrs:
Six Week 2hrs. Virtual workshop series (Total 24hrs.)
Tuesday & Thursday, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM / 3:00 PM – 5:00 pm
This is a six-week virtual training on Tuesdays and Thursdays Starting on Tuesday, October 13th, and ending on Thursday, November 19th (12 sessions of 2hrs each). There are two cohorts, a morning and an afternoon. The morning cohort will meet from 10:00 Am – 12:00 PM and the afternoon cohort will meet from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
Our curricula and training are alive and keep changing, evolving, and adjusting to the most recent research and best practices; and now adjusted to virtual engagement.
During our six-week Restorative Justice journey, we will learn and unlearn many things including:
Restorative Justice Philosophy, roots, and the experiential Circle Process: YWCA experiential holistic framework, Values, Circle Process, Four Levels of Circle process, Neuroscience of Restorative Justice (empathy and compassion) Guidelines & consensus decision making, mindfulness as a restorative liberatory practice.
Restorative Justice as a Way to Dismantle Institutional Racism and the school to prison pipeline: Culture, Power, 400+ years of inequality, freedom, and abolitionist dreaming.
Restorative Justice is an abolitionist Culture: Tools and practices for a Holistic Restorative Approach. Frameworks and models for Justice: Restorative justice, transformative justice, and healing justice. We will also engage in learning about different universal restorative justice practices as a way to build healthy relationships, create just and equitable environments, and transform and repair conflict.
All Restorative Justice Workshops sessions are free for staff from our partner agencies and schools. For non-partners, the workshop cost is $360. There is a discount available for students.
Please fill in this form to sign up if you’re interested in participating. There’s a max capacity of 15 participants per cohort.
After filling in the form, we will get back to you the week prior to Tuesday, October 13th with more information.
