Level 100: Restorative Justice as a Way to Dismantle Institutional Racism
RESTORATIVE JUSTICE WORKSHOP – FALL 2018 SERIES
The Restorative Justice program is embedded in Racial Equity Justice. Through experiential and practical activities participants will ground the work and the philosophy using a racial justice lens.
Some of the topics are:
- What is Restorative Justice? What is Restorative and what is Justice?
- Honoring Restorative Justice roots and history Indigenous Roots of Restorative Justice
- The School-to-prison pipeline
- Punitive VS Restorative
- Intent VS Impact
- Ending the cycle of harm
- Power with VS Power over
This session will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on a Saturday at YWCA Madison’s Empowerment Center located at 2040 S. Park Street. Purchased individually, each workshop is $125. Attend all three levels and save $75.

Celebrate the power of individual philanthropy at the Circle of Women fundraiser. Guests hear from women who have changed their lives with support from YWCA Madison and discover how their gift benefits women and their families in our community. YWCA create this event to encourage philanthropy among women and provide an opportunity to network with others from diverse social, ethnic, economic, educational, and cultural backgrounds. Men are also welcome to attend.

Level 200: Building Empathy Through Restorative Justice Circle Process
RESTORATIVE JUSTICE WORKSHOP – WINTER SERIES
Empathy has been used as a determinant for virtuous behavior, which is why there is a broad and ever-growing body of research surrounding this topic. In this experiential workshop, we will experience and practice circle process as a natural empathy and resilience cultivator.

- Elements of Circles
- Circle Experience
- The Power of Storytelling
- Circle Practice
