RACIAL JUSTICE SERIES – SPRING/SUMMER 2021
Through the development of this critical consciousness, we can also begin to build practices that interrupt the racial narrative of white supremacy and support personal and collective liberation grounded in equity.
All sessions utilize multiple learning strategies, including virtually facilitated learning experiences, interactive community building through an online platform, and self-directed learning, reflection, and processing outside of the facilitated experiences.
The sessions are designed in a progressive way, and an integral component of the experience is the shared dialogue participants have with fellow attendees. For this reason, it is required that participants plan to attend all 3 sessions in order to receive the full benefit of this format.
The Spring/Summer Series will be offered virtually on the following dates:
- Thursday, May 27th – Day 1: Introduction to the System of Racial Inequity
- Thursday, June 10th – Day 2: Exploring the History of Racism
- Wednesday, June 16th – Day 3: Moving into Racial Justice as an Ongoing Practice
Our Virtual Series Offering
We ask participants to dedicate the full day (9:00 am – 4:30 pm CST) to their racial justice learning and practice for each day of the Series.
Participants will have two facilitated blocks of learning over Zoom (AM Block: 9:00 am-11:00 am; PM Block: 2:000 pm-4:30 pm) with approximately 1-2 hrs of self-directed practices in between these two blocks. These practices are meant to deepen reflection, sense-making, and application for their racial justice learning and will sometimes be offered in pairs or small group formats as well.
