Funders and Partners

On behalf of women, girls, and families that we serve in the Greater Madison area, we salute our partners with heartfelt thanks.

YWCA Madison works with corporations, foundations, organizations, and government institutions to help us further our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. We welcome new partners and look forward to finding ways to work together to stand up for social justice, help families, and strengthen communities.

We know that our work won’t be complete until racism is eliminated and women are empowered, and we can’t do it alone. With your support, YWCA can continue to tackle the most challenging and pressing social justice issues facing our community.

Companies usually partner with YWCA Madison in one of two ways:

Corporate Sponsorship

Corporate sponsorship is a way that companies and organizations publicly demonstrate they stand with YWCA Madison and our mission to eliminate racism and empower women. The dollars raised from these events support our critical programming, such as housing and employment services. YWCA Madison, annually, hosts one Circle fundraising event, one Women of Distinction Awards, and a Racial Justice Summit.

Circle:
Thursday, February 15, 2024

Circle is YWCA Madison’s biggest fundraising event built on the power of individual philanthropy.

This event attracts over 900 attendees and features inspirational stories from past participants of YWCA Madison programs. This inspiring event is a favorite in the community and a great way for your organization to both show your support and bring your employees to learn about our mission, values, and work.

Women of Distinction Leadership Awards:
Thursday, June 20, 2024

Women of Distinction honors women in our community who have demonstrated a commitment to eliminating racism and empowering women through a variety of avenues. This award has an historic significance in our community.

YWCA Madison Racial Justice Summit:
October 3, 4, 5, 2023

YWCA Madison’s Racial Justice Summit is a regional conference that brings together community stakeholders, nationally-known keynote speakers and researchers, as well as local experts and advocates for the common goal of advancing racial justice & equity.

Our approach is intersectional and focuses on building meaningful relationships and networks that help participants carry the conference experience forward.

Programmatic Support

Programmatic Support is a way to directly invest in the work and mission of YWCA Madison. This support can be one-time or multi-year and can be transformational for our ability to provide services that positively impact women and people of color in our community.

We have three main program areas and we’d love to discuss which area resonates with your philanthropic goals.

YWCA Madison is the largest provider of affordable housing for women in Dane County. We have 8 housing programs that include:

  • Single Women’s Permanent Housing

  • Family Shelter

  • Single Moms Transitional Housing

  • Four Scattered Site Housing Programs in the community

Support for housing programs helps cover the cost such as case management, support services, space costs, transportation and food costs.

YWCA Madison has been providing employment training and retention programming for two decades. Our goal is creating career paths for women and people of color to obtain and maintain family-sustaining wages.

  • YWeb Career Academy

  • Drivers License Recovery Program

  • JobRide; Contract Rides

Funding Employment and Training helps providing training, transportation, case management and allows us to be responsive to changes in our community.

YWCA Madison is a bold leader in pursuing racial justice and equity in our community. We do this through:

  • The Racial Justice Summit

  • Corporate Training: Creating Equitable Organizations

  • Restorative Justice

    • Community Diversion: Opportunity for young people who have received a municipal ticket to participate in a restorative process

    • School Restorative Justice: Work within schools to provide a restorative conflict resolution approach
