Racial Justice Summit Emerging Registration

Please read before you purchase a ticket/tickets to the YWCA Madison Racial Justice Summit.

We will have one discounted offering:

A full three day Hybrid (virtual & in-person summit experience) taking place online and at Monona Terrance, September 28-30, 2022.

If you are purchasing tickets for other people, you will be responsible for forwarding a form to them to complete their registration process. This registration form will need to be completed individually, and will ask each attendee important information about their identities, field of work, and area of interest for their racial justice practice. This information will support us in making our best effort in planning for Summit experiences that are responsive to our attendees. Every person must fill in this survey individually to complete their registration.

If you are purchasing tickets for yourself, you must fill out the form to complete your registration. It will ask you to share important information about your identities, field of work and area of interest for your racial justice practice. Your registration will not be completed if you don’t fill out this survey.

This year’s Summit will be held Virtually on September 28th, 29th, with in-person events on September 30th.

Our Keynote Speakers will be Angela Y. Davis, Fania E. Davis, adrienne maree brown, Autumn Brown, Rudy Bankston, Linda Sarsour, Ericka Huggins, Jenifer Garcia-Mendoza, and more.

September 29, 2022

9:00 – 11:00am CST: Intergenerational Generative Dialogue between Ericka Huggins, Linda Sarsour, Rudy Bankston, and Jennifer Garcia-Medoza hosted by Angela Russell.
11:15am – 1:45pm CST: Virtual Summit Spaces in:
- Race Based Community
- Field and/or Practice Based Community
- Embodied and Creative Reflective Practice
2:00 – 4:00pm CST: Virtual Dual Keynote and Practice with sisters adrienne maree brown and Autumn Brown

September 30, 2022

9:00am – 12:00pm CST: In-Person Summit Institutes.

12:00 – 12:45pm CST: Community Free Time for lunch and to visit featured art exhibition, BIPOC creators and Justice Initiatives, socializing and/or individual reflection
12:45 – 2:15pm CST: In-person Summit Experiences.
2:15 – 2:45pm CST: Community Free Time.
2:45 – 4:15pm CST: In-person Summit Experiences.
4:30 – 800pm CST: Rooftop Party!

Please note, while it is our intention to gather in-person for the second day of the Summit, the health and safety of our attendees is our priority. Therefore, if Public Health recommends we pivot our plans for any reason, we will do so. This could mean reducing the capacity of people per in-person session, or shifting these offerings to a virtual modality. If this alternative would not work for you, please contact us to explore other options.

Payment Options: It is our preference that registrants pay with a credit card at the time of registration. If you are not able to pay with a card, additional payment options are available. Please contact Erin Farrar at efarrar@ywcamadison.org if this is an accommodation you need.

Young Adult (18-25) Registration: YWCA Madison continues to be inspired by all the ways in which youth and young adults intersectional movements and initiatives are leading our way into the future!

Scholarships are available: People that would like to request a scholarship can fill out this Scholarship Request Form. People will be notified in the last week of August if they have been selected to receive a scholarship. Questions about scholarships should be directed to Libby Tucci (ltucci@ywcamadison.org).
