Our work has not stopped. We continue to house, transport and provide critical services to our community, all while upholding our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. Use your privilege and funds to support Black, Brown, and Indigenous-led organizations and people.

  1. Take the time to read our Stand Against Racism pieces on YWCA Madison’s values:
    Humanity, Community, Growth, and Restoration.
These are excellent learning/unlearning pieces. YWCA Madison Blog

  2. The uprisings that we have seen recently are a response of centuries of structural violence. Learn our history. Explore and utilize the Racial Justice Learning Resource List put together by YWCA Madison’s Race and Gender Equity team. Those from our business community can learn more about and benefit from YWCA Madison’s Creating Equitable Organizations Partnerships.

  3. Put our monthly YW Talks (Facebook Live) on your calendar. The next one is June 25th from 2:00 – 3:00 pm . Our guest will be announced soon. https://www.facebook.com/YWCAMadison/

  4. If you are white, start having difficult conversations with other white people. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. If you care about racial justice, silence is not an option. White silence is violence.

  5.  Sign up for our YW Act Advocacy Alert Emails and learn more about our Public Policy Platform.

  6. Share on your social media the link to donate. Share why you are supporting YWCA Madison. Use the hashtags #blacklivesmatter #ywcamadison #ywcaisonamission #justiceforgeorgefloyd #justiceforahmaud #justiceforbreonnataylor #standwithus

  7. Attend YWCA Madison’s Racial Justice Summit on 9/29-9/30/2020.  It will be virtual this year and you can put the date on your calendar now. We are also seeking businesses to sponsor this event. More details on the Racial Justice Summit will be coming. Learn more here.

  8. Commit to being a Table Captain at our Circle of Women fundraiser in winter 2021. We don’t know exactly what our signature event will look like next year, but we do know that we’ll need the broad support of our community. The financial support raised at this event helps us serve thousands of people annually with work that addresses both root causes and immediate needs. Sign up here: Table Captain at 2021 Circle of Women Interest form.

  9. Sign up for our General Emails. These emails include opportunities for Racial Justice Workshops and other learning experiences around racial justice.

Thank you for your commitment to eliminating racism and empowering women.
