Community centers restorative justice
Nurturing youth Power
YWCA Madison Restorative Justice hosts clubs at various local community sites, supporting community building, non-violent communication, and circle practice in afterschool programming. Youth learn how to become circle keepers and have the opportunity to facilitate circles with their peers. They also lead the creation of clubs within their community centers such as cooking club, anime club, and leadership club, incorporating the culture of Restorative Justice into the community center as a whole. Through this leadership, youth help weave restorative values into the broader community center environment, shaping spaces rooted in youth belonging and power.
We are proud to be working in partnership with:

In addition to our youth-led efforts, we offer a range of supports designed to strengthen families and deepen community connections. These include professional development for staff, restorative parenting workshops, and opportunities for community members to engage in circle practice. We also provide community center referrals to ensure families can access the resources they need, along with healing processes that support youth in building resilience and repair.
