The Downtown Residence:

YWCA Madison’s beautiful Downtown Residence is conveniently located on the Capitol Square, with easy access to all city bus lines that run throughout the city. Both the Badger and Greyhound bus depots are a short distance away, as is the University of Wisconsin just down the street, along with many other Madison Landmarks.

Living at the Downtown Residence
The Downtown Residence is a 12-floor historic building. There are up to 16 private rooms per floor, all unique, with two main styles of living spaces designed to provide comfort, privacy, and a sense of community:
Private Single Room Occupancy (SRO) units with shared kitchens and lounges
Cozy one and two-bedroom apartments
Each unit offers a variety of bathroom setups:
Shared bathrooms (two to three residents per bathroom)
Semi-private bathrooms (private toilet and sink, shared bathtub & shower)
Fully private bathrooms in select rooms
Furnishing: All units are fully furnished with beds, mattresses, dressers, and tables. Residents are asked to bring their own linens, towels, and cooking ware.
Appliances: Each private room includes a refrigerator, while one and two-bedroom apartments feature galley kitchens equipped with a stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, and sink with disposal.
